DIRT Motorsports Inc., the new owner of Lernerville Speedway, has reached an agreement with Lernerville Motor Sports Inc. to have Barbara Bartley and Tom Roenigk continue directing the track's weekly race program.
The Bartley-Roenigk tandem leased the facility from former owner Helen Martin last season.
Lernerville will continue to feature Sprints, Late Models, Modifieds and Pure Stocks each Friday night during the season.
Edinboro University offensive tackle Greg Bzorek and Slippery Rock University return specialist Josh Kniess and nose tackle Brian Godfrey were voted to the first team of the 2004 D2Football.com All-Northeast Region Football Team.Knoch grad Bzorek, a 6-foot-6, 318-pound junior, has started 34 of 35 games for the Scots and was a first-team All-PSAC West pick.Kniess, a junior who graduate from Slippery Rock High, led the PSAC in punt returns with an 18.8 yards per return average and scored three touchdowns. He was third in all-purpose yards (161.8 yards per game) and fifth in rushing (107.5). He finished with 1,183 yards rushing and 13 TDs.Godfrey had 25 solo tackles, 11 assisted tackles, 6½ tackles for loss, three sacks, one fumble recovery and one forced fumble.SRU kicker Ryan Daniel earned honorable mention recognition. He connected on 10 of 15 field-goal attempts and was 32 of 35 on extra points.
