10:14 a.m. Monday - Kimberly Vanlaningham, 35, of Butler was cited for animal cruelty for leaving two dogs in her hot car parked at the Diamond Street parking lot.An employee at a nearby store told police that the dogs had been in the car for more than an hour. A thermal heat gun was placed in a crack in the window and determined that the inside of the car was 102 degrees, a police report said.But Vanlaningham showed up and told police she was only gone for a few minutes. Police issued her two citations for cruelty to animals.Monday - Vicky Rhodes of Butler reported that her son's red and black, 20-inch DK student bike was taken about 1:30 p.m. Friday from behind the Broad Street School.3:27 p.m. Sunday - Christine Slupe, 33, of Concord Township was cited for retail theft after allegedly shoplifting several clothing items valued at $127 at the Pullman Square Kmart store.

5:16 p.m. Monday - A car driven by Thomas Grosclaude, 36, of Renfrew and a sport utility vehicle driven by Jennifer Bauer, 25, of Pittsburgh collided on Route 68 near Whitestown Road in Connoquenessing Township. The car after hitting the SUV struck a mailbox. Grosclaude was cited for an undisclosed traffic violation.Monday - David Summerville reported that someone between June 3 and Monday broke into the basement through a window at his East Slippery Rock Street home in Chicora. Police released no other information about the burglary, including if any property was taken.11:20 p.m. Sunday - Lisa Sue Preston, 36, of Butler was arrested after allegedly biting the arms of James Preston, 43, of Butler during an argument at a Portman Road apartment in Summit Township. Lisa Preston is charged with simple assault and possession of drug paraphernalia.3:25 a.m. Sunday - Abe Kightlinger, 23, of Slippery Rock was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 108 in Slippery Rock.Sunday - Michael Conoran reported that a 16-inch bicycle was taken from his Park Street home in Bruin.6:51 p.m. Friday - A car driven by Jessica Olshavsky, 17, of Sharpsville, Mercer County, crashed on Browns Mill Road in Forward Township. Olshavsky, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.1:21 p.m. Thursday - A car driven by Tammy Rondinelli, 36, of Karns City struck another car parked on Route 68 in Chicora. Rondinelli, wearing a seat belt, and Nathaniel Rondinelli, 3, of Karns City, a passenger in the car secured in a child safety seat, suffered minor injuries.Thursday - Chris Duscheck reported that a 20-inch Redline bicycle was taken from his Lake Arthur Estates home in Portersville. The theft occurred between 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. Thursday.
