Shale sessions slated in March
Penn State Cooperative Extension, Butler County Community College, and the Butler County Chamber of Commerce will conduct events in March for three different audiences regarding Marcellus Shale development.
Events will be held at BC3’s Founders Hall, 107 College Drive.
• On March 5, the workshop “Leasing, Legal, and Our Water: Beyond Basics” will be offered for property owners and community members from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
Speaking will be attorney William White and extension educators Mark Madden and Jon Laughner, with the Penn State Extension Marcellus Education Team.

• On March 6, from 6 to 8 p.m., there will be a dinner for municipal officials regarding Marcellus Shale development.
Speakers will include Mel Bliss, public safety training facility coordinator, as well as White and Madden.

• On March 7, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., a mini-business Expo, “Marcellus Opportunities for Products and Services: How?” will be offered for business owners.
A lunch with speaker Bob Garland, senior technical adviser from Universal Well Services, will be the highlighted.

For those interested in exhibiting at the event, there is a $100 fee for an exhibit table and lunch.
