A woman receiving strange phone calls discovered someone had created a false account for her on an adult entertainment website.

The account was traced to James J. Wilkinson, 48, of Mars, who has been charged by Adams Township police with misdemeanors identity theft and harassment.

A woman reported to police that her picture and cellphone number were posted to the adult entertainment website called “Adult Friend Finders.”

An estimated 15 attempts to contact the woman resulted from the fraudulent posting, police said.

Officers discovered the account was connected to the email address and phone number of Wilkinson, who police interviewed.

Wilkinson initially denied any connection to the account, according to the affidavit. He later told police he and a friend created the account to get back at the woman for a family member not being hired for a job.

Wilkinson’s preliminary hearing before District Judge Amy Marcinkiewicz is scheduled May 30.
