Beatrice J. Athey, 85, of Saxonburg died April 5 at the Seasons at Saxony Health Center, Saxonburg.

Born March 27, 1922, in Manorville, ArmstrongCounty, she was the daughter of Harry and Olive Streightif Anderson.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, board games and reading.

Mrs. Athey was a member of the Cabot United Methodist Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Carolyn Gentile of Saxonburg; two granddaughters, Amy Crowdis of Keller, Texas, and Cara Gentile of Philadelphia; a great-grandson, Braden Stemley of Keller; and two sisters, Mrs. David (Ellen) Newell of Allison Park and Mrs. David (Mildred) Hanson of Rochester Hills, Mich.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Athey who died Nov. 3, 1985; a son-in-law, Fred Gentile; two sisters, and a brother.
