Richard “Ritch” James Ripper, 53, of Evans City, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023, while under the care of UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

Born May 29, 1969, in Ellwood City, he was the son of George K. and Patricia L. Burkett Ripper.

Ritch was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Evans City.

He was a 1987 graduate of Seneca Valley High School, where he played on the basketball team. He also was a member of the Evans City American Legion Baseball team.

He was employed by Suburban Insulation as an insulator.

He enjoyed dancing and was a social member of Evans City VFW. He also enjoyed being a referee with the Special Olympics. Above all, he loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his parents, George K. and Patricia L. Ripper of Evans City; his brother, Gregory “Ronald” Ripper of Pittsburgh; his sister, Shelly Ripper of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ritch was preceded in death by his sister, Tracey Ray Ripper; and his brother, George “Randy” Ripper.

RIPPER — Friends of Richard “Ritch” James Ripper, who died Saturday, April 29, 2023, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2023, and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, 116 E. Main St., Evans City.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, 330 E. Main St., Evans City, with Pastor Lauren Bosserman officiating.

Memorial donations may be made in Ritch’s honor to the Evans City Library, 204 S. Jackson St., Evans City, PA 16033; or to the Special Olympics at www.support.specialolympics.org.
