Cranberry supervisors OK development plans
CRANBERRY TWP — The township supervisors Thursday evening approved two development projects, including the relocation of an existing financial institution and housing changes for Park Place, a development which is under construction.
The change to the 195-acre Park Place mixed use traditional neighborhood development off Rochester and Powell roads adds moving housing units. The number of residential units in Park Place will now rise from 773 to 884.
An enhanced design for townhouses in one portion of the 12-phase plan would have the homes facing onto a grassy mall rather than onto streets like a number of single-family homes in the plan.
The development plan includes a trail to Graham Park from The Crossings neighborhood and a road connection from Park Place to Graham Park.
The USX Federal Credit Union located off Route 228 near the Chick-fil-A is moving to a bigger office within its same retail plaza. Supervisors approved the new 2,400-square-foot space, also located at 1694 Route 228. The credit union also operates an office off Freedom Road.
