Jimmy G. 'Jim' Carlson
Jimmy G. "Jim" Carlson, 64, of Butler died Thursday evening at Butler Memorial Hospital.
Born Nov. 22, 1942, in Rockford, Ill., he was the son of Raymond O. and Hazel Mae Cowen Carlson.
Mr. Carlson was a self-employed concrete finisher, owner of Carlson Flatwork, until his retirement in 1992.
He was an avid golfer and bowler and belonged to the Meridian Golf League and the Meridian Bowling League.
He was a member of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian.
Mr. Carlson is survived by his wife, Roberta Jean "Bobbi" Brannon Carlson of Butler; three daughters, Angela C. Carlson of Butler, Michelle Sheldon of Phoenix, and Renae Carlson of Arizona; a son, Eddy Carlson of Minnesota; three brothers, Jerry Carlson of Peoria, Ariz., Don Carlson of Sun City, Fla., and Wesley Carlson of Loves Park, Ill.; three sisters, Mrs. Jack (Joyce) Cypret of Rocky Comfort, Mo., Mrs. Dale (Janice) Gustufson of Kirkland, Ariz., and Mrs. Lynn (Donna) Gustufson of Phoenix; six grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
<B>CARLSON — </B>Friends of Jimmy G. "Jim" Carlson, who died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007, will be received from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the <B>GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME,</B> 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler. Funeral services will be held at 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. James Murphy, pastor of St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church, will officiate.
