Edwin Hasson, Ph.D.
Edwin Hasson, Ph.D., 82, of Westwood Manor died Wednesday at the Grove Manor Nursing Home, Grove City.
Born Aug. 17, 1925, in Irvona, he was the son of Joseph Hasson and Anna Malin.
Dr. Hasson retired as a school administrator for Butler School District. He earned his bachelor's degree from Lock Haven University, formerly Lock Haven State Teachers College, and his doctoral degree from Penn State University. He was past president of the Butler School Board and a member of the MORA Club, the Butler Planning Commission, the Golden Tornado Foundation and the Butler County Vo-Tech.
He was a member of Christ Community United Methodist Church.
During World War II, he served with the 82nd Airborne Infantry Division.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Bobby (Kara S.) Maxwell of Volant; two granddaughters, Brittany C. Schmidt and Kelli S. Maxwell; and a number of nieces and nephews.
His wife, Agnes M. Feigh Hasson, whom he married May 25, 1947, died Sept. 18, 2007. He also was preceded in death by three brothers.
<B>HASSON </B>— Friends of Edwin Hasson, Ph.D., who died Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Pamela Gardner, of Slippery Rock United Methodist Church, officiating.
