Butler Police8:17 a.m. Sunday — Gloria J. Mastrocesare, 63, was arrested after she allegedly threw a boot at her son during a domestic dispute at her home in the 400 block of Negley Avenue.The footwear hit the victim and left him with a small cut on his head, court documents said. Mastrocesare was arraigned on a charge of simple assault, and later released on her own recognizance.2:32 a.m. Sunday — Jason T. Sherman, 37, of Butler Township was caught with suspected drug contraband after police were called for a man yelling at a home in the 300 block of West Jefferson Street.Officers found Sherman outside the home. He admitted yelling during a fight with his girlfriend, according to court documents. While speaking to him, police noticed several empty stamp bags of suspected heroin between his feet.A search also turned up a marijuana pipe in his pocket. Sherman is charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

Butler Twp. Police11:30 a.m. Tuesday — A home on Saxonburg Road was burglarized and several unspecified items stolen. There are no suspects. Police remind residents to watch for suspicious people and vehicles in their neighborhoods during the holiday season.

Grove City Police7:44 a.m. Monday — No one was injured in a three-vehicle crash at East Main Street and Madison Avenue. David L. Maxwell, 63, of Grove City, one of the drivers, did not see stopped traffic in front of him and rear-ended another vehicle, causing the chain-reaction. He was cited for following too closely to another vehicle.7:12 a.m. Friday — The Tower Presbyterian Church on South Broad Street was vandalized in a break-in between 8:30 p.m. Dec. 10 and 6 a.m. Friday. The unknown burglar damaged several areas of the church once inside.The suspect, according to a police report, was inside the church for several hours. Anyone with information is to call 724-458-7925.

Slippery Rock PoliceMonday — Erick M. Robinson, 23, of Wexford was charged with drunken driving stemming from a disturbance call Dec. 8 at the Sheetz store on Franklin Street.Robinson and another man were in the store about 9:15 p.m. smoking vapor cigarettes and swearing with children nearby, according to court documents.The store manager asked the men to stop their behavior. Police were eventually notified and found Robinson in his car in front of a gas pump. Officers suspected he was intoxicated.A Slippery Rock University student, Robinson was arrested for driving under the influence after failing field sobriety tests. A breath test later showed his blood-alcohol level was 0.216 percent, documents said, well more than twice the state’s 0.08 percent legal limit. In addition to DUI, he is charged with disorderly conduct.

State Police, Butler11:30 a.m. Friday — Tammy Lee Macefe, 46, of Kittanning was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance in the 300 block of New Castle Road in Butler Township.
