Longtime Butler County tourism chief Jack Cohen to retire July 2024
A fixture of Butler County’s tourism industry will step down more than a year from now.
Jack Cohen, who has served as CEO and president of the Butler County Tourism & Convention Bureau since 2003, announced Tuesday, April 25, that he will retire from his post effective July 31, 2024. Cohen has served as CEO of the organization for nearly its entire existence, taking the position shortly after its formation in 2002.
Cohen has lived in the area since 1991, when he moved to Cranberry Township. Three years later, he founded Safari Sam’s Family Entertainment Center on Route 19, and a year after that, he joined the Cranberry Area Chamber of Commerce. He has been actively involved in local business ever since.
“It’s been an honor and pleasure working with all of our members and staff to grow tourism in Butler County,” Cohen said in a statement. “I am proud of the many accomplishments and successes over the years working together with our members, business partners, community, staff, and government leaders. I look forward to working with Amy not only to ensure a smooth transition, but also to help position the bureau and Butler County for the future.”
His successor already has been announced – Amy Pack, who will become executive director of the bureau effective July 1. Pack, who has been a part of the organization since 2012, serves as the bureau’s senior director of tourism development.
“I am honored to be selected by the board as executive director,” Pack said. “Jack has provided outstanding guidance and leadership, and I look forward to working closely with him to continue the great work the BCTCB has done the past 21 years.”
