The Rotary Clubs of Northwestern Pennsylvania are seeking four professional men and women to visit India in January 2008 as part of the Rotary Foundation's Group Study Exchange Program.

Applicants must be between the ages of 25 and 40 at the time of the trip. A Rotarian team leader will accompany the participants on the exchange of about one month.

Participants will be hosted by a Rotary district in the Punjab region of India. They will participate in tours of businesses, governmental offices, schools and recreational areas. Each team member will spend five days in activities related to his or her own profession.

The Rotary Foundation will provide round-trip air fare. Lodging, meals and travel in India will be provided by the Rotary hosts.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens living or working in the district, which extends from the Cranberry Township/Mars area north to Erie and from the Ohio border east to Dubois and Leechburg.

Participants must be employed full-time in a recognized business or profession and must be in good health. Relatives of Rotary members are not eligible.

In addition to the trip to India, the region's Rotary Clubs will host a team from India in May and June 2008.

The Butler County Community Parks and Recreation Department will host a program on birds of prey at 7 p.m. July 5 in the Carousel Shelter at Alameda Park.The program will be presented by master falconer Earl Shriver of Baden, who will bring with him a live hawk, eagle and falcon.

VALENCIA — St. Barnabas Charities is seeking memorabilia pertaining to the history of Butler County to decorate a room at The Arbors at St. Barnabas assisted living facility.When remodeled, The Butler Room will be used by residents for special functions and banquets.Items should be clean and still have a decent appearance.
