3:51 a.m. Tuesday — Kenneth D. Wise, 30, of Butler was charged with simple assault after allegedly throwing his girlfriend Chassidie McCormick, 23, down 12 steps, stomping her hand and kicking her. Wise was arraigned before District Judge Peter Shaffer and jailed in Butler County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bond.Tuesday — Arthur Foulk of Butler reported a hit-and-run accident in which someone struck his vehicle while it was parked in the front lot of Butler Memorial Hospital on East Brady Street between 5:30 and 6:30 p.m.5:38 a.m. Monday — A vehicle driven by Marilyn Phillips, 56, of Butler and a pickup truck driven by John O'Connor of Bradford Woods collided at the intersection of Main and Wayne streets. No one was injured. Phillips was cited for not obeying a flashing red light.10:06 p.m. Sunday — A vehicle driven by Andrew Steighner, 24, of Butler was traveling on North Monroe Street when it struck a parked car owned by Kim Schuelke of Butler. Steighner's vehicle then hit a second parked car owned by Donna Savannah of Butler.The impact sent Savannah's car onto the sidewalk. Steighner's vehicle then hit a third parked vehicle owned by Joanne Snyder of Butler. That impact pushed Snyder's vehicle into a parked vehicle owned by John Bonyak of Butler. Bonyak's vehicle was theb pushed into a fifth parked vehicle owned by John Pajer of Butler. Steighner was charged with driving under the influence.10:56 p.m. Sept. 10 — A Jeep driven by Ashley Martin, 18, of Saxonburg and a vehicle driven by Anthony Heitzer, 61, of Butler collided at the intersection of Pillow and Filmore streets.One of Martin's passengers, Christopher Edwards, 26, of Chicora was taken by Butler Ambulance to Butler Memorial Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. No other injuries were reported. Martin was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Another of Martin's passengers, Jessica Kutsch, 22, of Sarver was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of alcohol.
4:07 p.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Dean Kemper, 25, of Butler and a car driven by Stanley Himelinski, 76, of Saxonburg collided on Victory Road in Clinton Township. Both drivers and Himelinski's passenger, Henrietta Himelinski, 76, were wearing seat belts and were not injured. Kemper was cited for not driving a vehicle at safe speeds. Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company and EMS assisted state police.7:50 a.m. Wednesday — A car driven by Apryle Barta, 20, of Cairnbrook and a car driven by Hannah Glass, 17, of Slippery Rock collided at the intersection of Harmony Road and Campus Side Circle in Slippery Rock Township. Both drivers were wearing seat belts and were not injured.Wednesday — Michelle Norman, 29, and James Edowski, 32, both of Butler, reported someone broke into their car and stole the dash stereo while the vehicle was parked in a driveway at their Rider Church Road residence in Center Township between 5 p.m. Tuesday and 7 a.m. Wednesday. They also reported several tools missing from a shed on the same property.11:50 p.m. Tuesday — John J. Halagich, 30, of Lyndora was charged with theft, receiving stolen property and resisting arrest. Halagich is accused of stealing four American Racing rims and tires off a Jeep Wrangler parked at Mount Chestnut Auto Sales on New Castle Road in Franklin Township.Police report catching Halagich and another man in the act before both fled on foot. State troopers caught Halagich while the second man escaped. The stolen parts, which are valued at $1,000, were returned. Halagich was arraigned before District Judge Sue Haggerty on Wednesday and jailed in Butler County Prison in lieu of $2,000 bond. Anyone with information about the incident should call police at 724-284-8100.Tuesday — A 14-year-old male student at Knoch Junior High School in Saxonburg was arrested for allegedly selling a small amount of marijuana to a 13-year-old female student. The girl faces charges of drug possession.2:40 a.m. Tuesday — A vehicle driven by Anthony Corcoran, 33, of Tarentum slid into an embankment on Sandy Hill Road in Middlesex Township. After the vehicle overturned, Corcoran allegedly fled the scene. He was not wearing a seat belt and received minor injuries.Sept. 13 — Keith Litzenberg of Karns City reported the theft of cash and pop cans from a pop machine at Litzenberg Drilling on Hooker Road in Concord Township between 6 a.m. Sept. 11 and 10 p.m. Sept. 13.
