Trail group plans three upcoming hikes

The Butler Chapter of the North Country Trail Association has three upcoming hikes scheduled:

— 9:30 a.m. Saturday, April 22. Holy Sundae Hike. Hikers will meet at the Holy Sundae Ice Cream Shop in Parker to be shuttled to Eldorado Road for a 4.5-mile hike on moderate trails and over bridges. The hike will end back at the ice cream shop.

— 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 29. Hike for Literacy. Hikers will meet at Sybert’s Garage, 1347 West Sunbury Road for a 2-mile round-trip hike passing bodies of water. Donations to the North Trails Public Library may be made to https://northtrailslibary.org/fundraiser or give donations to Brian or Suzan Loutzenhiser the day of the hike.

— 9 a.m. Sunday, May 6. Mother’s Day Hike and Continental Breakfast. This event will begin at McDanel’s Boat Launch, Shelter 7, Moraine State Park at 9 a.m. with a pot luck continental breakfast (attendees can bring breakfast items such as bagels, scones, doughnuts, muffins, yogurt or fruit). Drinks and paper products will be supplied. The hike starts at 10:15 a.m. and will be a 2-mile roundtrip moderate hike.
