Kenneth P. Moore
Kenneth Paul Moore, 78, formerly of Villa Drive in Butler and of Chicora and of Karns City, died at 9:55 a.m. Tuesday at Sugar Creek Rest in Worthington after a long illness.
Born in Perry Township, Armstrong County, near Parker, on Nov. 1, 1927, he and was a son of William and Mahala Jones Moore.
Mr. Moore served with the Army during World War II and retired from the Witco Corp., Petrolia in 1990 after 42 years.
He was a member of the Karns City United Methodist Church. He was an honorary member of the Petrolia and the Chicora volunteer fire departments and was a member of the VFW Post 7073 of Parker.
He played the guitar and fiddle with a number of country bands for more than 40 years.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret E. "Peg" Trimbur Moore, whom he married Nov. 22, 1951, at the Karns City United Methodist Church; a son, Terry L. Moore of Hagerstown, Md.; two daughters, Gloria Jane Youngblood of Hagerstown and Pamela E. Miller and her husband, Rick, of Fairview; two grandsons, Matthew Miller and Stacey of Worthington and Mark Miller of Fairview; and a great-grandson, Hayden Miller of Worthington.
He also is survived by two sisters, Esther Dorr of Sunnyview Home and Jane Barger and her husband, Joseph, of Gretna, La.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by six brothers, John, Harry, Creed, Hamilton, Ernest and Clyde Moore, and two sisters, Annie Barger and Myrtle Crawford.
<B>MOORE</B> — Friends of Kenneth Paul Moore, who died Tuesday,Aug. 1, 2006, will be received from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home</B>, 102 Argyle St., Petrolia. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. George Snyder, pastor of the New Beginnings Christian Fellowship Church of Hagerstown, and Mr. Moore's son, deacon Terry L. Moore officiating.
