Mary Sheila Pavlek
Mary Sheila Pavlek, 63, of Slippery Rock passed away at 2:45 p.m. Friday at her home following an extended illness.
She was born Jan. 6, 1946, in Pittsburgh. She was the daughter of the late Robert Burke and the late Mary Catherine Cronin Burke.
She was a member of the St. Louis Roman Catholic Church.
She had been a clerk for Social Security in Boyers.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Paul Pavlek Sr., who she married May 14, 1966; two daughters, Linda Ann Spare and her husband, Donn, of Youngstown, Ohio, and Mary Catherine "Katie" Pavlek of Slippery Rock; two sons, Robert Paul "Bob" Pavlek Jr. and his wife, Shelley, of Dublin, Pa., and William Patrick "Billy" Pavlek and his wife, Diane, of Stevens, Pa.; six grandchildren, Megan, Pete and Ian Spare and Aiden, Alex and Robert P. Pavlek III; two sisters, Mrs. Tim (Janice) Duffy of Forestville and Mrs. Frank (Patti Jo) Vesci of Pittsburgh; two brothers, Robert Burke of West Elizabeth and James Burk of Pittsburgh; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Roberta, and two sisters.
<B>PAVLEK</B> — Friends of Mary Sheila Pavlek, who died Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>William F. Young Funeral Home</B>, 132 Main St., West Sunbury. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Louis Roman Catholic Church with her cousin, Father Jackie Rebel, of St. James Apostle Parish in New Castle, officiating. Burial will be Forest Lawn Memorial Park in McMurray, Pa.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the Lupus Foundation, Landmarks Building, 100 W. Station Square Drive, Suite 315, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
