Joanne A. Emminger Thompson, 70, of Chicora died at 11:50 p.m. Sunday at the Chicora Medical Center.

Mrs. Thompson was born Sept. 15, 1938, in Donegal Township. She was the daughter of Joseph and Rosie Matthews Emminger.

Mrs. Thompson lived in Indianapolis, Ind., for several years and moved back to Chicora in 1993.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Robert L. Thompson, who died July 19, 1987.

Mrs. Emminger is survived by a sister, Mary C. Emminger of Chicora; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and George Emminger; and two sisters, Margaret Marshall and Rose Marie Neff.
