MANOR TWP, Armstrong County — A Butler County man is accused of inappropriately touching two girls last year at a home on Goat Hill Road in the township.

State police Friday arrested Frederick H. Bolten, 57, of Butler. He was later arraigned on two felony counts of corruption of minors and two misdemeanor counts of indecent assault.

He is free on $10,000 unsecured bail while awaiting a preliminary hearing Sept. 26 at the office of District Judge J. Gary Decomo in Ford City.

The girls, ages 11 and 12, in separate interviews Nov. 7 told authorities that Bolten fondled them in 2016 at his then-house in Manor Township, according to court documents.

Investigators suspect the crime occurred between May 1 and Oct. 30.

Police later tried to interview the defendant but he declined and referred them to his attorney.

Bolten's attorney, Stephen Misko of Butler, said he was prepared to fight the charges.

“We believe the charges are specious and we are looking forward to our day in court,” Misko said Monday. “(Bolten) vehemently denies the allegations.”
