A senior financial adviser who formerly worked for Morgan Stanley and oversaw more than $156 million in assets has opened an independent practice with Wells Fargo in Butler.

Butler native Wendy Bennett has opened Bennett Associates Wealth Management at 101 E. Diamond St., Suite 200.

“As an independent practitioner, I have the best of both worlds by keeping a focus on my clients first and still having the strength and support of one of the nation’s largest investment firms,” Bennett said in a statement.

Bennett Associates focuses on long-term planning to help clients set financial goals and make decisions related to investments, debt management, retirement planning, tax planning, and other financial issues.

Bennett has 16 years of experience in the financial industry. She began her career in 1998 with PFS Investments.

She also worked with Citigroup before taking a position with Morgan Stanley in 2009.

[naviga:h3]County airport has manager vacancy[/naviga:h3]

PENN TWP — The Butler County Airport is temporarily operating without a full-time manager.

Manager Roy Uptegraff resigned from the position in September. Since October, airport authority board Chairman Ike Kelly has been filling in.

Kelly said that Uptegraff, who lives in Robinson Township, Allegheny County, cited a long commute as one of the reasons for leaving.

He still has a plane at the airport and spends time there on a frequent basis, Kelly said.

Board members have narrowed the applicants for the position to five and will do interviews soon.

The manager needs to be someone who is a pilot and is familiar with airport operations and the aviation industry, he said.

The authority talked about the vacancy Thursday night at its meeting.
