5:44 p.m. Friday - Kiyon Matthews, 25, of New Castle, who had an outstanding warrant from a parole violation, was held following a traffic stop on Center Avenue. Matthews was taken to the Butler County Prison. He had been paroled on July 21.Matthews was a passenger in an SUV driven by Danielle Frazier, 23, of Butler, who was charged with driving with a suspended license.12:10 a.m. Friday - Randy Stephenson, 43, of Lyndora was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after being stopped at 102½ Third Ave. for multiple warrants from the Butler County Sheriff's office and from county domestic relations.

Friday - Harry McDivitt of Sandy Lake Township reported the theft of $1,000 from a lock box at his Heister Road residence between 11 a.m. Monday and 8 a.m. Friday. McDivitt told police he had an unknown man and woman staying with him who possibly took the money, but they had left the state.Friday - Paula Mae Raymond of Sandy Lake Township reported the theft of an oval sign and an old milk can at the end of her driveway at 2259 McComb Road between 6 p.m. Thursday and 4:15 p.m. Friday.

2:09 a.m. Friday - Robert Clair Duttry, 37, of Worthington was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence on Milligan Road in West Franklin Township, Armstrong County.7 a.m. Tuesday - A truck driven by Cory Trudgen, 28, of Ford City was traveling on rain-slicked Church Road in North Buffalo Township when it left the road on a curve and struck a tree before rolling down an embankment. Trudgen, who wasn't wearing a seat belt, was thrown from the vehicle, receiving major head injuries. He was flown to Allegheny General Hospital for treatment Trudgen was cited for driving too fast for conditions and not wearing a seat belt. State police were assisted by North and South Buffalo volunteer fire departments and Kittanning EMS.

Aug. 4 - Karen Davis of 516 Bessemer Ave. reported someone broke one of her yard lights sometime between 5 p.m. Aug. 3 and 6 a.m. Aug. 4.Aug. 10 - Rosemary Pollio, 23, of 556 Beatty St. was arrested on two counts of false imprisonment, false reports to law enforcement authorities and harassment following an incident at the Pizza Hut at 715 W. Main St. and 442 Liberty St.Aug. 11 - John Snow of 502 Tidball Ave. reported his gas can had been stolen. The can was later recovered with six others in the Tower Presbyterian Church Dumpster.10:30 a.m. Aug. 11 - James B. Dora, 42, of 1033C N. Broad St. Ext. was arrested on charges of forgery and theft by deception for depositing bogus checks at Northwest Savings Bank on Center Street. He was arraigned before District Judge Lawrence Silvis and placed in Mercer County Jail in lieu of $15,000 bond.7:30 p.m. Aug. 11 - Mike Casteel, 39, of Amsterdam Road reported that he lost his wallet at Memorial Park.5 a.m. Aug. 14 - Police arrested Jerry Munson, 26, of 140 E. Main St. on West Main Street near Breckenridge Street for public drunkenness.Monday - Diana Lamarca, 42, of 220 Grace St. reported someone had taken her son's bike between Aug. 10 and Aug. 12. The bike is a 20-inch green freestyle Next T22 Invader.Monday - Two vehicles were damaged at 146 Park St. overnight. A 1994 Chevrolet coupe owned by Alicia Bowers had its side window broken and its lock gas cap broken. A 1990 Plymouth station wagon owned by Harold Dennison had both passenger tires slashed. Damage estimates are not yet available.Thursday - Police filed charges of bad checks against Christopher E. Schneider, 39, of 263 Hayes Lane, New Castle. Schneider allegedly issued a check from a closed account to Grove City Beverage on July 16.

Aug. 10 - Malley Joseph Branchetti was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of small amounts of marijuana. Malley was renting a room above a garage at 246 S. Main St. where a fire broke out Aug. 10. Police discovered the drug paraphernalia and marijuana when investigating the fire.

Aug. 7 - Two juveniles were arrested after being found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia while walking on the road from water tower lot to the water tower.
