Wednesday — Police reported that Jeremy R. Newhart, 22, faces charges for allegedly stealing electricity from his neighbor's apartment in the 400 block of West New Castle Street.Newhart is accused of stringing together extension cords from the basement of his neighbor's apartment to his second-floor apartment. Police said he is charged with theft of services.Wednesday — Police accused a 17-year-old Butler girl with stealing money from a 10-year-old Cabot boy at a dental office on South Main Street. The boy had accompanied his mother there.The girl, who police did not identify, allegedly took the unspecified amount of money from the boy's wallet. Police said she is charged in juvenile court with theft and possession of drug paraphernalia.

9:15 a.m. Wednesday — James R. Warrick Jr., 37, of Chicora allegedly pointed a gun at a Venango County man during an apparent case of road rage in Summit Township.Police said the dispute between Warrick and 55-year-old Robert R. McGuire of Emlenton began at Route 38 near Hunter's Truck Sales. It ended at Routes 38 and 68, where the suspect got out of his vehicle and pointed a handgun at McGuire, according to a police report. No one was hurt.Police said Warrick faces charges of terroristic threats and simple assault. McGuire faces charges of disorderly conduct, harassment and several undisclosed traffic violations.7:35 a.m. Wednesday — Sharon M. Shoemaker, 49, of Prospect was hurt when a car rear-ended her car that was stopped at a stop sign on Route 488, just west of Route 422 in Franklin Township. Shoemaker, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.The other driver, 18-year-old Bethany L. Roxbury of Prospect, was cited for texting while driving. Police said they believe the accident happened when Roxbury took her eyes off the road to look at a text message she received on her cell phone.Wednesday — An unknown thief stole a wallet from a Saxonburg man's vehicle in the 300 block of West Water Street. The theft happened between 12:30 and 9:30 a.m.Saturday — Unspecified items were stolen from an unlocked storage garage in a burglary on Bonniebrook Road just south of Jones Road in Jefferson Township. The break-in happened between May 27 and Saturday.June 29 — A .22-caliber Beretta handgun was stolen in a burglary at a home on Cemetery Road in Venango Township. The break-in happened between May 14 and June 29.

Tuesday — An unknown burglar made off with jewelry from a house on Wildlife Drive in Slippery Rock Township, Lawrence County. The break-in happened between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.
