Keep Pushing

Butler Eagle systems administrator Dane Winkler does push ups in Butler's Diamond Park as part of the Butler Eagle 22-day program to have employees do 22 push ups to honor veterans.
Push ups honor fallen veterans

Just 22 push ups for 22 days.

This is a small effort to bring attention to the plight of many of veterans.

Every day, 22 veterans commit suicide as a result of post traumatic stress disorder, PTSD.

To promote an awareness of this tragic situation, the Butler Eagle like many other businesses and groups nationwide is pledging to have employees do 22 push ups for 22 days.

It is hoped that this symbolic act will cause all of us to think about how we can help veterans who have done so much to help the rest of us.

Butler Eagle systems administrator Dane Winkler leads the effort in honor of his late friend Sgt. Nick Tomko of Butler, who was killed in action on Nov. 9, 2003.

Winkler started Tuesday. So for the next 20 days, other Eagle employees will join this push up effort.

Each time you see someone keeping in physical shape by doing these push ups, think about the veterans who sometimes need help to keep in mental shape after they have served our country.

See the video of this push up program daily at the Butler Eagle website, www.butlereagle.com, or at #22 kill.
