SLIPPERY ROCK — Graduates of the Leadership Butler County Class of 2016 were recognized at the Butler County Chamber of Commerce Celebrate Business dinner Wednesday.

There were 26 graduates in this year's class.

The Leadership Butler County program consists of individuals who represent a cross-section of the Butler County from the private, public and nonprofit sectors.

Each year, the program helps members of the class work on team-building and leadership skills.

People participating in the program each year work toward completion of a community project. This year's class renovated the Butler County Children's Center Educational Trail at the center on Rieger Road.

Members of the class admitted that the project was not always easy.

“The journey wasn't always easy but we put our hearts and souls into it,” said Renee Uram with Armstrong Utilities and co-chairman of the class. “It was worth it, and together we built leadership and legacy.”
