Betty Louise (Gornic) Moore

Betty Louise Gornic Moore, 89, of Butler passed away at 9:50 p.m. Sunday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.

She was born Aug. 19, 1922, in Butler to the late Lewis Z. Moore and Alta Callen Moore Brown.

Betty was a homemaker, and she also worked at the Butler Public Library from where she retired in 1986.

She enjoyed her pets, crocheting, sewing and needlepoint. She also was active in line dancing.

Surviving are two sons, Melvin Gornic Jr. of Pittsburgh and Dennis Gornic of Albany, N.Y.; one daughter, Sandra Costa of Butler; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph Moore and Thomas Brown, both of Butler; many nieces and nephews; and her cat, Suzie.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister.

<B>MOORE</B> — Friends of Betty Louise Gornic Moore, who died Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Dr. D.J. Quirin officiating. Burial will be in Butler County Memorial Park.Memorial donations may be made to the Butler County Association for the Blind, 322 N.
