Gertrude Luschkowski
Gertrude Luschkowski, 78, of Cranberry Township died peacefully Thursday surrounded by her husband and daughters.
Born Jan. 7, 1932, in East Germany, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Marianna (Krupka) Rudnik.
Mrs. Luschkowski immigrated to the United States in 1956, and, along with her husband, faithfully served for 20 years as a house parent for Lutheran Children's Home in Zelienople.
Mrs. Luschkowski enjoyed cooking, but her greatest joy was her family. She was a member of English Lutheran Church in Zelienople.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Luschkowski, who she married April 28, 1956; two daughters, Monika McCormick and her husband, Ron, of Cranberry Township, and Rose Schuring and her husband, Wally, of Zelienople; a brother, Johannes Rudnik of Germany; a sister, Hedwig Hartmann and her husband, Rudy, of Germany; and four grandchildren, Kevin McCormick and his wife, Mollie, of State College, Kelly Mercado and her husband, Victor, of Seven Fields, Amanda Lynch and her husband, Darren, of Mars, and Ashley Schuring of Zelienople.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Theo, Horst, and Bernhard Rudnik.
<B>LUSCHKOWSKI — </B>Friends of Gertrude Luschkowski, who died Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at <B>BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME, </B>324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. Funeral services will be at 8:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with the Rev. Robert A. Keplinger, her church pastor, officiating.
