Alice Mae Stehle
Alice “Mae” Bachman Stehle, 86, of Shippenville passed away Tuesday at Clarion Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Born Nov. 18, 1924, in Jefferson Township, she was the daughter of Elry and Mary Belle Ritchey Bachman.
She was a loving and devoted wife and mother.
She worked as a bookkeeper for her husband, Paul A. Stehle, when he began their mobile home sales business, Stehles' Mobile Housing.
She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and often volunteered at its school while her children attended there.
In her earlier years, Mae and Paul enjoyed square dancing on a regular basis with the Fiddle Around square dancers' group. Throughout her life she loved reading, cooking, and creating silk floral arrangements, but Mae was happiest being with her husband, her children, her grandchildren, and her kitties, Fluff and Tiger, who adored her.
Surviving Mae is her husband, Paul, to whom she was married for 62 years. Also surviving are her daughter, Karen S. Agresti of Erie and her husband, Judge Thomas Agresti; her son, Thomas P. Stehle of Shippenville and his wife, Barbara Stehle; her daughter, Susan A. Slike of Shippenville and her husband, Richard Slike; her grandson, Eric Stehle of Emlenton and great-granddaughter Kaelynn Stehle; and granddaughter, Chelsea Hoyt and husband, Dale, of Camden, Ohio.
She also is survived by her sister, Mrs. Helen Dey of Greensburg; her brother, Lloyd Bachman and his wife, Peggy, of Clarion; her sister-in-law, Mrs. Patricia Stehle Artman of Butler; her brother-in-law, William Duffy of Lillian, Ala.; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Clair Bachman; and her five sisters, Opal Frederick Miller, Janice Olexsak, Frances Grelling, Ethel Crider and Edna Duffy.
<B>STEHLE </B>— Friends of Alice “Mae” Bachman Stehle, who died Tuesday, March 15, 2011, may call Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the <B>Goble Funeral Home and Crematory</B>, 330 Wood St., Clarion, where a Christian wake service will be Friday at 8:30 p.m. At 11 a.m. Saturday a Mass of Christen burial will be celebrated at the Immaculate Conception Church, 1234 W. Main St., Clarion, with Father Monty Sayers as celebrant.
