You make some good points, but to say that you would have to expeirance it before writing about it was the best. What I don't think you know is I have lived this over and over.. Not for my kids, but another close family member. Not only that, but i have more experiances on this subject in my 32 years that a lot have had in thier whole lifetime. There are too many to jot down here, but lets just say, most of my friends, or close classmates are no longer in my life because of drugs, etc. Death has taken most, but others was jail, or the drug itself. I don't believe I said that i would force a parent to care for a child, but to sit back and watch them not parent would be the last thing i would do.

I am a mother of an 11 yr old and 13 yr old boys, and a 3 yr old daughter. Because of what I know, I started talking to the boys about drugs a long time ago, (along with the subject of sex). A little here and a little there, as not to frighten or minimize the importance of both subjects. Knowledge on the whole matter is key, and to shield them from it could be one of the worst mistakes made by parents today.
