Bacon sizzles in Knights' victory
Knoch's Kevin Bacon struck out five batters in three innings of work and the Knights (2-0) scored all three of their runs in the third inning to prevail over Beaver 3-0 in high school baseball Thursday.
Bob Kruth hit a two-run double to lead Knoch's offense.

Butler managed just two singles by Steve Scott and Anthony Pinto in a 6-0 loss Blackhawk.
Adam Fleming hit a home run, singled twice and drove in three runs and Ryan Lynch also had three hits, including a solo home run, but Mars dropped a 9-5 decision to Deer Lakes.
Kory Micholas tripled, singled twice and drove in two runs and Sean Mientos collected four hits, but Freeport lost to Kittanning 10-6 in eight innings.
