Flinner 60th anniversary

Samuel "Buss" and Thelma Flinner of Prospect will celebrate 60 years of marriage with an open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 30 at St. John's Lutheran Stone Church in Harmony.

The former Thelma Scheidemantle married Flinner on Nov. 3, 1945, at St. Peter's Reformed Church in Harmony.

They have four children, DuWayne Flinner and Ron Flinner, both of Prospect; Debra Flinner of Pittsburgh; and Kimberly Cunningham of Imperial.

They also have five grandchildren.

Flinner is a lifelong farmer and the owner of Flinner Implement. He is semi-retired. He also worked at the Tube Mill in Ellwood City. A veteran of the Army Air Corps, he served in the South Pacific. He is currently a member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Mrs. Flinner is a homemaker. She is also semi-retired, continuing to help with the family business and farm. She was a former government worker in social security in Baltimore.

The couple belongs to St. John's, where Mrs. Flinner has been a member of the Ladies Aid for more than 50 years.
