LYNDORA — The Butler Orthodox Acting Together will host a Love B.O.A.T. Valentine's dance from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. Feb. 17 at Ukrainian Hall.

The dance will feature music by Ralph Pinchak and the My Happiness band, raffles, appetizers, snacks and drink mixes. Participants should take their own beverages.

Tickets are $12.50 each and are available by calling 724-287-8597 or 724-287-8124. Alimited number of tickets will be at the door.

Proceeds from the dance benefit the B.O.A.T. organization's community outreach programs.

BUTLER TWP — A Families Forever Seminar, hosted by Lifesteps and Family Services of Butler Memorial Hospital, will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Feb. 17 at Lifesteps, 383 New Castle Road.The seminar will focus on minimizing the effects of divorce on children.A program for children in grades one to six will be held at the same time.Cost is $50 for adults and free for children. BRADY TWP — The Butler Outdoor Club will once again participate in the North Country Trail's annual Cherry Pie Hike Feb. 17 at the Old Stone House, Routes 8 and 173.The event will begin at 11 a.m. and will include a 2 to 3 mile hike and a 5 mile hike.The hike, held in celebration of George Washington's birthday, will conclude with a cherry pie dessert, donated by Bob McCafferty of North Country Brewing.The free dessert and coffee will be served in the Old Stone House.Historical information and tours of the Old Stone House will be available.Participants should call 724-538-8475 or send an e-mail to rice1@nauticom.net to confirm attendance.

MARS — The Mars Area Public Library, 107 Grand Ave., will host its annual winter book sale from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 17 and noon to 4 p.m. Feb. 18. For information, call 724-625-9048.

SLIPPERY ROCK — The Feb. 26 meeting of the Slippery Rock Women's Club will be held at the Slippery Rock Parks and Recreation Center.Speakers will include Jan Forest of the Slippery Rock Community Library and Lauren McCune of the American Heart Association.
