ZELIENOPLE — The Zelienople Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star will host a Sundaes with Santa party from 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 2 at Harmony Lodge Hall on Beaver Street.The event will include a visit from Santa, crafts, a basket raffle, music and ice cream.For reservations, call 724-752-8599.Butler school choirs plan holiday concertMembers of the Butler Intermediate High School choirs, under the direction of Lynn Crytzer, will present a holiday concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 4 in the Intermediate High School Auditorium.Admission is free, and donations will be accepted for Butler Memorial Hospital Caring Angels Foundation.

BUTLER TWP — Lifesteps has begun its annual giving tree program, which provides Christmas gifts for Butler County children in need.A tree, located in the lobby of Lifesteps, 383, New Castle Road, is decorated with ornaments that list a child's gender, clothing size and interests. Names are kept confidential.Community members may take an ornament and buy gifts for the child listed. Donations should be wrapped and returned to the center by Dec. 14.For information about Lifesteps' holiday programs, contact Jody Gulish at 724-283-1010.

The Butler High School class of 1958 will host a two-day reunion Aug. 8 and 9. The event will include a picnic and a dinner dance.Information will be sent to classmates soon. For information, send an e-mail to twmjellis@zoominternet.net.

PITTSBURGH — The Phipps Garden Center is accepting applications for its master gardener program.Gardeners undergo a training program and are required to donate 36 hours of volunteer time a year to help gardening education and fund raisers.Training courses begin in January and are held from 9:30 a.m. to noon Tuesdays.Individuals interested in the master gardener program at Phipps Garden Center must submit an application. Notices, in writing, of festivals, fundraising events, newly elected officers and other news from clubs and nonprofit groups should be sent to the Focus department one week in advance of the event. Items should include the name and phone number of the person providing the information and be sent to Focus, Butler Eagle, P.O. Box 271, Butler, PA 16003.
