RELIGIOUS ROUNDUP

BETHEL PRESBY

The Purpose Driven Life Bible study class will be held at 8:30 a.m. Wednesdays and at 7 p.m. Sundays at Bethel Presbyterian Church, routes 8 and 108, Slippery Rock.

BUTLER CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE

Chrisann Green will provide music for the 10:45 a.m. Sunday service at Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68.

The Central Zone Nazarene Ministers and Mates dinner will be held at 6:30 p.m. today at Hoss's Restaurant, Leesburg-Grove City Road, Grove City.

A district caravan sledding party will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Mount Chestnut Nazarene Center, 177 North Road. If there is no snow, indoor games and activities will be available.

The Women's ministry will hold its first meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. The meeting will include a prayer sister exchange. Participants should take an appetizer or dessert.

The Teen Department is selling pepperoni rolls to raise money for its Acquire the Fire trip. To order, contact Ann McIndoe or Dave Brown.

CHRIST'S OUTREACH

Innerchange will present "Come, Now is the Time to Worship," featuring Debbie Price at 7 p.m. Saturday at Christ's Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave.

Amber Crowe will provide music for the Sunday service.

CHRIST COMMUNITY U.M.

The Rev. Larry Homitsky, council steward of the Western Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church, will lead the Sunday worship services at Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road. He will appear in character portraying Charles Wesley and the history of the Methodist church. Homitsky is currently involved in the nationwide Igniting Ministries campaign and multimedia ministries.

Easter candy order forms are available in the narthex. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Dominican Republic mission trip.

Sausage workers planning to attend the annual dinner on March 3 should make reservations on the sign-up sheet in the narthex.

His Productions, the church drama team, will be auditioning acts on March 18 and 19 for the spring variety "Really Big Show." Contact Jill Todd to schedule an audition time.

Registration is currently being conducted for the third trimester of adult Sunday school classes beginning Feb. 27.

Members wishing to assist with the multimedia presentations during the contemporary service should contact Tiffany Boardman to schedule an equipment training session.

FIRST BAPTIST

The Kingdom Seekers Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will host an adults-only fondue party social at 6:30 p.m. Friday at the Baptist Youth Center.

The Fellowship Sunday school class will hold a Valentine social at 7 p.m. Friday at the youth center.

FIRST U.M.

Wonderful Wednesdays of Lent services will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesdays during lent in the main sanctuary at First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St.

Practice for the Hosanna presentation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Sunday in the main sanctuary.

A spaghetti dinner will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday to benefit local mission work, Servant Evangelism and other church ministries. Cost will be $7 for adults, $3 for children ages 5 to 12 and free for children younger than 5. Takeouts will be available.

FIRST ENGLISH LUTHERAN

The contemporary service rehearsal for First English Lutheran Church, 241 N. Main St., will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday.

The Senior High Sunday school class will meet at 9:45 a.m. Sunday.

Communion will be celebrated at the 11 a.m. Sunday contemporary service.

Debra Zarnick will present a program on Medicare prescription drug coverage and other government-funded prescription programs after the 11 a.m. Sunday service. A snack will be provided. In case of bad weather, the program will be held Feb. 27.

The Bible study on spirituality has been changed to 7 p.m. Tuesday.

GRACE @ CALVARY LUTHERAN

A combined Lenten service will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church, 123 E. Diamond St. The speaker will be the Rev. Richard Leseganich of St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Refreshments will follow in the social hall.

A project day will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in the social hall. Participating women should take a bag lunch.

HIGHLAND U.P.

S.A. Nallathambi will speak at the 11 a.m. Sunday service at Highland United Presbyterian Church, 310 Franklin St., Slippery Rock.

MERIDIAN U.P.

The Rev. Bob Peterson will be the speaker at the 7:30 p.m. Wednesday Community Lenten services at Meridian United Presbyterian Church, 4150 Highland Ave.

MT. CHESTNUT PRESBY

A fun and fellowship afternoon for members of Mount Chestnut Presbyterian Church, 727 Old West 422, will be held from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Meridian Lanes. Cost is $5 per person or $20 for families. Cost includes shoe rental. Participants should take a snack item to share.

The youth group will participate in a 30-Hour Famine beginning at 5 p.m. Feb. 25. Funds collected from sponsors will benefit the World Vision Fund. For information, contact the church office at 724-287-7601.

NEW LIFE CHRISTIAN MINISTRIES

The newest class of covenanting disciples will be recognized at the Sunday worship service at New Life Christian Ministries, Knoch School Auditorium, 345 Knoch Road, Saxonburg.

A new adult elective on "Experiencing God" will begin Sunday. Books are available for $10 by contacting the Rev. Chris Marshall.

NORTH MAIN ST. CHURCH OF GOD

Copies of "Mercy Beyond Measure," the text being used for the 30-Day Spiritual Adventure at North Main Street Church of God, 1201 N. Main St. Ext., are available in the church office and Welcome Center.

The Noah's Park Winter Olympics for youth age 4 through grade 5 will be held at 6:45 p.m. Feb. 23 in the gym. The event will include food and prizes.

OLD UNION PRESBY

The youth group spaghetti dinner will be held Saturday. Donated supplies should be at the church by Friday evening.

RIDER LUTHERAN

The Sacrament of Holy Communion will be celebrated Sunday at Rider Lutheran Church, 189 Rider Church Road, West Sunbury.

ST. JOHN U.C.C.

A congregational meeting will be held after the 11 a.m. Sunday service at St. John's United Church of Christ, 501 E. Main St., Evans City.

An additional practice for the "Why Do You Cry?" spring musical will be held Monday. Ensembles will practice at 6 p.m. followed by the choir at 7 p.m. and dialogue practice at 8 p.m.

ST. JOHN'S REFORMED

A Sunday supper will be held at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at St. John's Reformed Church, Route 68 at Benbrook Road. The complete meal and table service will be provided. Study time will follow at 6:15 p.m.; and singing and praise at 7:15 p.m.

ST. PETER'S EPISCOPAL

Assistant Bishop Henry Scriven will be present at the Sunday service at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, 218 E. Jefferson St. There also will be confirmation, and a reception will follow.

TRINITY PRESBY

Scout troops will be recognized during the Sunday morning service at Trinity Presbyterian Church, 107 Staley Ave.

Volunteers will serve from 9 a.m. to noon Monday at the Covenant Food Cupboard.

The Veggie Tale Crowd will meet at 3 p.m. Sunday for pizza and a showing of "Josh an dthe Big Wall." Participants should register through the church office by Friday.

The Prayer Fellowship class has resumed meetings at 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays in the library.

WEST LIBERTY PRESBY

A family game night will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at West Liberty Presbyterian Church, 833 Church Road, Slippery Rock.

A Lenten potluck dinner will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday. A performance by Ken Metrick will follow at 7 p.m.

WEST SUNBURY U.P.

The Worship class will lead the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at West Sunbury United Presbyterian Church, 215 East Church St., West Sunbury.
