An 1859 "Bird's-Eye View of Pittsburgh, Allegheny, Birmingham, South Pittsburgh, Sligo, Manchester and Lawrenceville" tinted lithograph is part of the exhibit "A Panorama of Pittsburgh" display at the Frick Art Museum.

PITTSBURGH — "A Panorama of Pittsburgh: Nineteenth-Century Printed Views" will be on display through Oct. 5 at the Frick Art Museum, 7227 Reynolds St., in the Point Breeze section of Pittsburgh.

This exhibition and accompanying catalog will provide an in-depth consideration of the history of printed views of Pittsburgh and printmaking in the city.

There have been no previous exhibitions that have studied this material systematically, using examples from private, public, corporate and club collections in Pittsburgh, as well as institutions around the country.

This exhibition, organized by the Frick Art & Historical Center, is part of the Frick's contribution to the celebrations surrounding Pittsburgh's 250th anniversary.

The exhibition is organized by the Frick Art & Historical Center with support provided by the Allegheny Foundation, The Pittsburgh Foundation, the Eichleay Foundation, Mine Safety Appliances, and the Juliet Lea Hillman Simonds Foundation.

The Frick Art Museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays; closed Mondays and holidays. Admission is free.
