Rose

Charles "Chick" Rose of Passavant Retirement Community in Zelienople will celebrate his 101st birthday May 21 with a party for family and friends at the retirement center.

Born May 21, 1906, in Pittsburgh. He married Elizabeth Kaven on Sept. 6, 1928. She is deceased.

He has a daughter, Elizabeth Garland of Harmony. A son, Charles Rose is deceased. He also has three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Rose is retired from the barber shop at the Pennsylvania Railroad Station in Pittsburgh.

A veteran of the Army, he served in Germany during World War II. He is now a member of the Veteran's Association.
