Pioneers golfers finish 2nd

DEEP CREEK, Md. — The Butler County Community College men's golf team placed second out of nine teams at the WPCC season-opening tournament at Wisp Golf Resort Sunday.

The Pioneers totaled a score of 339 behind Potomac State (305). Other full squads included Westmoreland County Community College (346), CCAC-Boyce (355), CCAC-South (370) and Pitt-Titusville (377).

Mike Cuscino fired an 81 and Keith Rice had an 83 to lead the way for BC3, followed by Freeport's David Hughes (85). Rich Mazzocca (90), and Butler's Tony Manfred (91) and Trevor Maser (92).

BC3 plays today against Penn State-New Kensington and Westmoreland County Community College at The Links in Spring Church.
