As we approach the anniversary of war in Ukraine
The community of Ukrainians in Butler thank all individuals and organizations that have supported the effort to help Ukraine and her people. The Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA sponsored 100 ambulances and medical field units from the donations of so many caring people. Your donations have been used to provide food, water, medicines and medical supplies, infant clothing and diapers, children and adult clothing, bedding, and other daily necessities.
The infrastructure in Ukraine has been decimated, so sending these desperately needed items is a challenge, but they do get through. The power grid was destroyed weeks ago, and many families suffer malnutrition, hypothermia, and face medical emergencies. Through these generous donations, Archbishop Daniel of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the USA acquired 100 generators that have been shipped to the war-torn areas of Ukraine where the greatest hardships occur. These generators assure Ukrainians that they are not forgotten and there is hope, that they will not only survive, but prevail.
A local Vigil is offered on Saturday, February 25th, 6 p.m. at Saints Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 21 Evergreen Road, Lyndora led by Reverend Yurii Bobko.
The public is invited to join us as we pray for Ukraine, the suffering Ukrainians, for those individuals, families and institutions who have taken in refugees, and especially for all who have generously supported Ukraine throughout the past year since this unprovoked war began.
