6:16 p.m. Wednesday — Robert Brophy, 28, of Butler was arrested for allegedly assaulting his former girlfriend, Tina Logan, 19, of Butler, during a domestic dispute at a West New Castle Street apartment. Brophy was arraigned on a charge of simple assault, and later placed in the Butler County Prison in lieu of a $2,500 bond.

Tuesday — A red, 4-foot-high Craftsman tool box filled with Craftsman tools was stolen from a shed at a Village Acre home in Clintonville, Venango County. The tools are engraved with "ARC" along with a series of numbers.Anyone with information about the theft, which occurred between Saturday and Tuesday, is asked to call borough police at 814-432-3484.

11:50 p.m. Wednesday — A sport utility vehicle driven by Carl Klecha, 20, of Petrolia struck a tree along Peaceful Valley Road near Calico Road in Washington Township. Klecha told police the crash occurred after he swerved his vehicle to avoid a deer on the road.6:30 p.m. Wednesday — Four people were hurt when a pickup truck and car collided on Interstate 79 at Route 488 in Muddy Creek Township.Police said the crash occurred when the pickup driven by Archie Harding, 60, of Boyers struck the rear of a car driven by Brenda Valingo, 43, of Greenville, Mercer County, as both cars entered the highway from Route 488.The collision forced both vehicles into the guardrail, and the pickup rolled onto its roof. Portersville firefighters were called and helped free two passengers trapped in the car's wreckage.Harding and the car's passengers, Terry Shirey, 49, and Roy Shirey, 35, both of Greenville, were flown by medical helicopters to unknown hospitals.Police described the passengers' injures as moderate and Harding's injuries as minor. Valingo suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to an unknown hospital for treatment,Police said both drivers were wearing seat belts; the passengers in the car were not.Wednesday — Numerous items including aluminum and copper automobile bumper molds and mold ejectors were stolen from JSPInternational on East Brook Lane in Summit Township. The theft occurred between Oct. 15 and Wednesday.4:05 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Clara Fleeger, 50, of Butler, traveling south on Route 8 in Brady Township, went off the road and onto the west berm, continuing south before colliding with a dump truck.The car, following the collision, continued southwest through a field and ended about 240 feet south of Route 173 in a field. Fleeger suffered minor injuries. Jeffery L. Mowen, 55, of Valencia, the truck driver, was uninjured.2:27 p.m. Monday — A car driven by Kevin Kerr, 30, of Butler struck a pickup truck at Mercer Road and Blossom Drive in Center Township. Kerr was cited for following too closely to the pickup, which was driven by Scott Taylor, 25, of Elyra, Ohio.Monday — Robert Biedenbach, 47, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his pickup truck struck a fence along Geibel Road in Summit Township. Biedenbach, who was wearing a seat belt, suffered minor injuries.2:25 a.m. Dec. 27 — Jacqueline Studeny, 22, of Valencia was arrested for suspicion of DUI following a traffic stop on Route 228 in Adams Township.

8:56 p.m. Tuesday — William Boocks II, 37, of Emlenton was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after his car struck the side of a bridge on Interstate 80 in Beaver Township, Clarion County.
