Sintz 60th anniversary
Harry and Doris Sintz of Butler celebrated 60 years of marriage with a family dinner at the Runway Restaurant in Penn Township.
They also traveled to Hawaii April 7 to 15 with their daughter and her husband.
Sintz married the former Doris Cottrill on April 14, 1951, in a Methodist church in De Ridder, La.
They have four children, Sandra Strunk of Chesapeake, Va., Robert Sintz and Harry Sintz, both of Butler, and Susan Marterella of Boyers.
They also have nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Sintz is retired after 33 years teaching fourth grade in Meridian and Lyndora schools. He served as a deacon, usher and councilman at his church. He is involved in the Retired Teachers organization. He loves to travel and has visited Japan, England and most of the United States. He also enjoys gardening and flowers.
Mrs. Sintz is retired after 25 years as clerk with Jack McKain's Market. She is a homemaker. A member of her church for more than 71 years, she has volunteered at most church dinners and craft shows for cancer. She is also involved in relays for cancer. She is an active bowler and has participated in leagues for more than 25 years. She has also donated blood for more than 25 years. She loves to travel and work in the yard.The Sintzes attend Grace Lutheran Church.
