Kathy Sue Salvati
Kathy Sue Salvati, 55, of the Valley Community Services Group Home in West Sunbury, formerly of Ellwood City, passed away at 4:52 p.m. Friday in UPMC Northwest Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Kathy was born Oct. 13, 1955, in Ellwood City to the late Aristo Salvati and Katherine Lasky Salvati of Butler.
While she lived in Ellwood City, she was a member of the Holy Redeemer Parish.
Kathy graduated from the St. Anthony School for Exceptional Children when she was 16.
She worked at Lark Enterprises in New Castle for 33 years and then the PARC Sheltered Workshop in Butler. For the past three years, she worked with the Lifesteps B.E.S.T. Program in Butler.
Kathy loved dancing and latch-hooking and was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Kenny Rogers and Bobby Vinton.
Survivors include her mother, Katherine Lasky Salvati of Butler; two sisters and brothers-in-law; Karen (John) Primerano of Charlotte, N.C., and Peggy (Gary) Tonini of Butler; along with her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Aristo Salvati, in 1981; her maternal grandparents, Michael and Margaret Lasky; and her paternal grandparents, Luigi and Anna Salvati.
SALVATI — Visitation for Kathy Sue Salvati, who died Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in the
Samuel Teolis Funeral Home, 309 Spring Ave., Ellwood City. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with Father Andrew DeFusco officiating.
