Carbin 50th anniversary

Victor and Mary Carbin of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage with a Mass at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Herman, followed by a family dinner at the American Legion post 683 in Cabot.

The former Mary Kriley. married Carbin on Sept. 22, 1955, at St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church.

They have nine children, Victoria Cornetti of Boyers; Catherine Jesteadt and Patricia Gall, both of Butler; Mary Lou Cypher and Raymond Carbin, both of Saxonburg; James Carbin of Marlton, N.J.; Randal Carbin of Southgate, Ky.; Stephen Carbin of Buford, Ga.; and Maria Guildea of Belchertown, Mass.

They also have 17 grandchildren and a great-grandson. Another grandson is recently deceased.

Carbin is retired from Armco.

Mrs. Carbin is a homemaker. She is a member of the Secular Franciscan Order and enjoys embroidery.

The couple belongs to St. Mary of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, where Mrs. Carbin is a member of the Christian Mothers group. The couple enjoys bowling and playing cards.
