10:09 a.m. Friday — Brandon Lavelle Jackson, 27, of Pittsburgh turned himself in at the Butler police station for an outstanding city warrant for criminal trespass. He was jailed in Butler County Prison on a $25,000 bond.
Friday — A rash of overnight thefts from unlocked vehicles parked in Slippery Rock Township were reported.Clinton and Susan Master reported the theft of a Ruger .45-caliber semiautomatic pistol, cash, various CDs, two Motorola walkie talkies and hypodermic needles worth a total of $600 from their unlocked vehicles parked in their driveway at 587 Keister Road.William Walker, 43, Timothy Walters, 64, and Martha Allen, 35, of Bradman Estates reported the theft of cash totaling $150 from their unlocked vehicles. Other vehicles parked at Bradman Estates were entered, but no items were stolen.Michelle and Sharon Isacco reported the theft of cash, a checkbook and prescription medicine, worth a total of $50, from their unlocked vehicles parked at their residence at 3621 William Flinn Highway.5:30 p.m. Thursday — An SUV driven by Zachary Foster, 18, of Volant was traveling on Interstate 79 in Worth Township when it struck a guardrail. He was wearing a seat belt and was not injured.Thursday — Jonathan Leggett of Greensburg reported the theft of a blue 2006 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle while it was parked on the side of the road on Interstate 79 in Worth Township between 5 p.m. and 5:30 p.m.4 p.m. Wednesday — Todd R. Cypher, 36, of Fenelton was charged with simple assault and harassment after a domestic dispute with a 34-year-old Butler woman at his residence at 115 MClafferty Road. Cypher was arraigned before District Judge Kelley Streib and released on unsecured bond.Wednesday — The Bearcreek Watershed Authority reported a burglary at its sewage treatment plant off Parker Street in Bruin that occurred between 11:30 a.m. Monday and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday. About $2,000 worth of copper cables were cut from three generators. Anyone with information about the theft should call state police at 724-284-8100.July 21 — Nicholas W. Schwenke, 20, of Evans City was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession with intent to deliver and corruption of minors following a traffic stop on Roadway Creek Road in Forward Township. He is accused of giving marijuana to three female juveniles who were passengers in his vehicle.7:50 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by James Lewis, 27, of Slippery Rock struck the rear of a car driven by Charles Ruhe, 80, of West Mifflin on Interstate 79 in Lancaster Township. Both drivers were wearing seat belts and were not injured. Lewis was cited for following too closely.
July 21 — Patricia Snow of Pine Township reported the theft of $180 in cash from her residence at 9 Gill Road that occurred between noon July 20 and 10 a.m. July 21.
4:27 p.m. Thursday — A four-vehicle accident occurred on Interstate 80 in Beaver Township, Clarion County, after a car driven by Elizabeth Herrit, 24, and a tri-axle truck driven by Christopher Beatty, 23, of Morrisdale, Pa., collided in the eastbound lanes. The impact sent Beatty's truck into a guardrail before rolling over, landing back on its wheels. Herrit's car collided with a tractor-trailer driven by Nuo Nuculovic, 23, of Macomb, Mich. An SUV driven by Gary Fansler, 55, of Columbiana, Ohio, then struck the rear of Beatty's truck. All four drivers and Fansler's passenger, Belinda Fansler, 55, were wearing seat belts. Herrit and Belinda Fansler received minor injuries. Beatty and Gary Fansler received unknown injuries. Nuculovic was not injured.
