Glenn T. Stewart, 102, of Concordia Haven at Cabot went home to be with the Lord Wednesday.

Born Nov. 8, 1905, in Jackson Center, Mercer County, he was the son of Emma E. Edge and John A. Stewart.

He lived in Tarentum for several years, Jefferson Center for 38 years, and Piper Village in Butler for 16 years. He lived at Concordia Haven since 1996, and was known for planting hundreds of flowers around the grounds.

He was associated with the Alpha Gasoline and Oil Co. from 1929 when he started in Creighton. He later transferred to the service station in Natrona Heights and then to the Tarentum station in 1932.

After attending Butler Business College, he became a partner-manager of the Alpha Service Store from its opening in 1945 until its closing in 1968. Shortly after it's closing, he became assistant-manager for Associated Hardware Supply in Lower Burrell's Hillcrest Shopping Center until his retirement in 1974.

He was a member of the Jefferson Center Presbyterian Church since 1935. He served as treasurer for 18 years and also as trustee and elder.

He was a member of the Victory Lodge 69 years and of Valley of New Castle Scottish Rite, Syria Shrine.

He was secretary-treasurer of the board of directors for Saxonburg Heat and Light for years.

He will be missed by his many friends at Concordia Haven and his longtime friends from his church.

He is survived by a grandson, Neil Stewart of Switzerland County, Indiana; a granddaughter, Laura Stewart of Nashville, Tenn.; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Erma Bachman Stewart, who died in December 1998; a son, Thomas G. Stewart, who died in October 2007; and a brother, Dr. Howard S. Stewart, who died in October 2000.

<B>STEWART</B> — Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>.Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Jefferson Center Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Jean Henderson, retired minister from Jefferson Center Presbyterian Church and the Rev. Robert McCrumb, current minister at the church, officiating.Burial will be at the Saxonburg Memorial Cemetery.
