Gladys M. Charlton
Gladys Marie Charlton, 79, of Valencia went to her Lord and Savior on Christmas morning at her home.
Born in Bairdford on Dec. 20, 1931, she was the daughter of William Henry and Viola May Bonin Drum, who are deceased.
Marie was a member of the Valencia United Methodist Church, where she was treasurer of the Valencia United Methodist Women. She belonged to the Mars AARP, the Valencia Historical Society and A.G.L.O.W. Lighthouse Outreach.
She was an avid bowler, golfer and roller skater.
She is survived by three sons, William K. “Whistle” (Kathy) Charlton of Freedom, and John H. (Jean) Charlton and Jeffrey A. Charlton, both of Valencia; daughter-in-law, Angela Charlton of Allison Park; and grandchildren, Beverly, Jade, Evan, Marissa, Steven, Roni and Douglas.
She is also survived by a brother, Wayne Drum of New Kensington, and two sisters, Dorothy Drum of Indiana and Louise Grau of Gibsonia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William E. “Red” Charlton, who she married Nov. 15, 1951, and who died Sept. 12, 2003. Her son, Ronald E. Charlton, died in 2006.
Three brothers, Merle, George and Wilbur Drum, and two sisters, Grace Baumgartner and Edna Fuhr, also preceded her in death.
The family extends their appreciation to Odyssey Hospice for its loving care.
