Haugh

Stanley S. "Stan" Haugh, 85, of East Brady died Friday at his home.

Born Dec. 18, 1922, in Strattanville, Clarion County, he was the son of Earl and Carrie M. Sherman Haugh.

He had attended East Brady High School and served in the Navy/Merchant Marines during World War II as an apprentice seaman class M-1.

He worked at Michigan Limestone Mine in Bradys Bend for 12 years. He also worked at Pullman Standard and then at Rex-Hide in East Brady for more than 12 years. He was a longtime constable for Perry Township, Armstrong County, and served as chief of police in East Brady from 1970 until his retirement in 1989.

He was a member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church of East Brady and was a member and driver for the East Brady Area Ambulance Service for many years. He also belonged to American Legion Post 488 of Bradys Bend; the Rimersburg Rod & Gun Club, the National Rifle Association and the American Merchant Marine Vets-Mariners of Pennsylvania.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and his grandchildren and raised bobwhite quails as a hobby.

Surviving are his wife, Harriet I. Seybert Haugh, who he married Aug. 22, 1947; two daughters, Mrs. Albert (Lynn) Long of Rochester and Donna E. Pyle and her companion, Dennis Sebring, of Chicora; a son, Michael E. Haugh and his wife, Mary Ann, of Queenstown; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren, soon to be 12 in June; and very special friends, Barry and Pam Moore of East Brady.

He was preceded in death by a sister, a son-in-law and four great-grandchildren.

<B>HAUGH</B> — Friends of Stanley S. "Stan" Haugh, who died Friday, March 21, 2008, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 2 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at <B>Charles B. Buechele Funeral Home</B>, 105 Fourth St., East Brady. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Peter Sears, his church pastor, officiating.
