C&S Ambulance Service crashed into a ditch along Iron Bridge Road in South Buffalo Township on Wednesday.

WINFIELD TWP — A C&S Ambulance was transporting an elderly woman to Fair Winds Manor around 10:45 a.m. Wednesday when it crashed into a ditch on Iron Bridge Road, said C&S service director Tom Shank.

Three people — the ambulance driver, the patient and an EMT — suffered injuries. The driver and EMT were transported to St. Margaret’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, while the patient was taken to Allegheny Valley Hospital.

“As far as I can tell there were no serious injuries,” said Anthony Chiesa, South Buffalo Township police officer.

South Buffalo Fire Department and Freeport Ambulance also responded. Shank did not release the names of the injured. The ambulance was towed.
