12:45 p.m. Saturday — Police said a fire marshal unit has classified a fire at a home on Madison Avenue as accidental and determined the cause of fire to be a child playing with fire. Police said the fire, which caused an estimated $1,000 in damages, did not injure anyone.

10:28 a.m. Saturday — Police said Roxane L. Robinson, 40, of Hawthorne, Pa., was driving west on Route 85 in the area of Harris Road when she lost control of her Jeep Grand Cherokee while going around a curve and hit a GMC Savana driven by Robert E. Sleigh, 58, of Kittaning, which was traveling east on the road.
Police said Robinson’s vehicle then went into a spin and was hit by a Ford Escape driven by Scott S. Kovach, 29, of Rural Valley, Pa., which had been behind her vehicle in the westbound lane. Police said Robinson suffered injuries of unknown severity in the crash and was cited for the crash.
Jan. 22 — Police said various charges are pending against three men and a woman after a traffic stop on Route 356 in Buffalo Township near a GetGo. Police said one of the four individuals had an active warrant, the driver of the vehicle showed signs of impairment and all occupants of the vehicle were found to be in possession of suspected heroin and related paraphernalia.

2:05 p.m. Sunday — Police said Laurence D. Brunner, 58, of Oil City, was driving east on Route 322 when the tire of his Oldsmobile Bravada came loose and went into the road’s westbound lane, hitting the front of a Chevrolet Equinox driven by Sandra K. Edinger, 55, of Emlenton. Police said no one was injured.
3:52 a.m. Saturday — Police said a 35-year-old Kennerdell woman was stopped for a traffic violation on Route 308, and arrested for suspected DUI. Police said DUI and related charges against the woman are pending.

1:29 p.m. Jan. 14 — Police arrested Thomas L. Shanafelt, no age given, of Emlenton after a traffic stop on Rehobeth Church Road.
Police said Shanafelt was found to be under the influence of and in possession of a controlled substance and faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving under the influence of a controlled substance, driving while operating privilege is suspended, careless driving, and stop signs and yield signs.
[naviga:h3]State Police, New Castle[/naviga:h3]
8 a.m. Saturday — Police said someone broke the rear windows of two vehicles while they were parked at 113 Covered Bridge Road in Wilmington Township and damaged passenger doors of a third vehicle while it was parked at 135 Covered Bridge Road.
Police say they believe the damage, estimated at $2,000, was done with a BB or pellet gun. The victims are from Grove City, Plains, Pa., and Volant.
