Gregory C. Kingston
Gregory C. Kingston, 55, of Casa Grande, Ariz., formerly of Portersville and Ellwood City, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, upon arrival at Maricopa Medical Center, Phoenix, Ariz., of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident.
Born in Ellwood City, Jan. 6, 1952, he was the son of Gertrude M. Stubbel Kingston of Ellwood City and the late Giles D. Kingston, who died Feb. 2, 1975.
He graduated from Lincoln High School in Ellwood City in 1970 and was a truck driver for the Cranberry Supply Co. In February, he moved to Arizona, where he was a kidney dialysis technician for Fresenius Medical.
Mr. Kingston was an active member of Mountville Presbyterian Church, Portersville, where he was an elder, a former trustee and a mission team leader who went on mission trips to Mexico 10 times and disaster relief in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.
He also was a member of the Ellwood Saxons, enjoyed classic cars and motorcycles and was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
He is survived by his wife, Linda L. Marshall Kingston, whom he married in 1976; his children, Gregory Kingston Jr. and Bethany Kingston, both of Slippery Rock, and Jeffrey S. Kingston of Pittsburgh; and a grandson, Grant Kingston. Also surviving are a sister and three brothers, Patricia Stevens of Ellwood City, Donald L. Kingston of Gettysburg, Dennis P. Kingston of Princeton, Pa., and David E. Kingston of Ellwood City.
Friends were received Thursday at the Turner Funeral Home, Sixth Street at Park Avenue, Ellwood City. Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Mountville Presbyterian Church, Portersville, with the Rev. Don Hurray officiating. Burial will be in Mountville Cemetery, Perry Township, Lawrence County.
