The Vangrootenbruels in 1961

Ronald and Katherine Vangrootenbruel of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage with an invitation party to the Happy Hunters Sportsmen's Club Oct. 16.

Vangrootenbruel married the former Katherine Ottobre Oct. 7, 1961, at the Holy Redeemer Roman Catholic Church in Ellwood City.

They have two children, Ronald Vangrootenbruel Jr. and David Vangrootenbruel, both of Butler.

They also have one grandchild.

Vangrootenbruel is the owner of Van's Sporting Goods. He is a member of Moose Lodge #64, the NRA and the Summit Township Sportsmen Club.

Mrs. Vangrootenbruel is a homemaker. She is a member of Takes Off Pounds Sensibly Pa #181.The Vangrootenbruels are members of St. Michaels Church.
