Linda McCarren

Butler Beauty Academy, where we change lives, is at 233 S. Main St., and is owned by Linda L. McCarren.

Her husband, Mike McCarren, was a third generation family business owner of the former McCarren’s Clothing Store in downtown Butler on Main Street for 77 years. Linda was part owner of the store until she decided to work at Butler Beauty School.

In 1997, Linda became part of the beauty school business owned by Gerald Camp. In 2010, she bought Butler, Kittanning, and New Castle Beauty Schools as well as Cafe Main on Main Street in Butler.

Linda had a goal and vision in mind when she bought the schools and has since then changed the names from school to academy and has modernized them. Since having a business on Main Street for decades, she fell in love with the small town environment and has kept all three schools in a central business district.

The academies are well known as being progressive educational institutions that prepare students to initiate and advance their careers in the beauty field.

The students are required to meet a complete set of professional criteria and to develop their skills, tact, and performance by performing beauty-related services for the public.

The academy provides an active student salon, which is open to the public daily and offers a full line of services at affordable prices. The academies also offer birthday, bridal, and prom specials.

The academies offer numerous programs throughout the year. The hair designing program is structured to enable students to complete their studies in as few as 10 months and to be gainfully employed upon completion of the program.

Nail artistry, educator/teaching, and aesthetician programs are also available.

The academies are nationally accredited, and financial aid is available to those who qualify.
