Today - Police continue to search for the driver of a sport utility vehicle that struck a 12-year-old boy riding a bicycle on West Birch Street about 3:30 p.m. Friday.The boy, who was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital and later flown to Children's Hospital in Pittsburgh with a broken elbow, identified the suspected vehicle as a Suzuki Grand Vitara. The vehicle is navy blue with a roof rack, possibly with a spare tire on the back. Police believe the vehicle has minor "scuff-type" damage to its side or front fender.The boy described the driver as a white man in his late 30s or early 40s. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Butler police at 724-287-7743.8:55 p.m. Friday - Barry Alan Miller, no age given, no known address, was arrested for driving under the influence on Kittanning Street. Miller, who was also cited for driving with a suspended license-DUI related, is also wanted on a bench warrant issued out of Allegheny County. He was arraigned on charges and placed in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bond.2:56 p.m. Friday - Jeffrey West, 24, of 401 N. Washington St., Apt. 7, Butler was arrested after he was spotted allegedly taking a package of razors at the Friedman's store on West Brady Street.Police searched West and found him with nearly 170 Klonopin pills for which the defendant had no prescription. Klonopin, a sedative, is commonly prescribed to treat epilepsy.West was arraigned on charges of possession with the intent to deliver a controlled substance and retail theft, and placed in the Butler County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bond.12:12 a.m. Friday - Anthony Klingensmith, 19, of 145 Green Manor Drive, Butler was arrested for driving under the influence at East Jefferson and Eau Claire streets. He was also cited for underage drinking.
Friday - Two motorists were arrested for driving under the influence during a DUI patrol in Butler.Additionally, one arrest each was made for furnishing alcohol to minors, corruption of minors, and carrying a firearm without a permit. Officers issued 21 traffic citations and 28 warnings.
2:52 a.m. Sunday - Kathleen Eilenfeldt. 49, of 241 North Road, Butler was arrested for driving under the influence after she backed into another vehicle on Hoon Road in Oakland Township.Police said Eilenfeldt drove off after the crash and sometime later crashed into a ditch along Beulah Road in Oakland Township. Terry and Debra Baptiste of Hoon Road own the vehicle struck in the hit-and-run crash.Sunday - Currency, tools and other undisclosed items were taken from several vehicles on Portman Road and Bay Leaf Lane in Summit Township. The thefts occurred between 9 p.m. Saturday and 7:30 a.m. Sunday,2 a.m. Saturday - A car driven by Matthew Hoover, 23, of New Castle struck a guardrail on Route 422 in Muddy Creek Township. Police said the crash occurred when Hoover fell asleep at the wheel.Saturday - An unidentified Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck struck two traffic signs along Route 38 in Cherry Valley. The pickup then traveled into a parking lot and struck a vehicle before driving off.5:15 p.m. Friday - A trailer broke free from a tractor truck on Bonniebrook Road in Summit Township and rolled backward into a trailing car driven by William Bale, 65, of Sarver. Lori Kennedy, 41, of Butler was driving the tractor-trailer.3 p.m. Friday - An unidentified vehicle struck the rear of a stopped car at a construction zone on Route 68 in Summit Township and did not stop following the crash. Angela McCue, 18, of Fenelton was driving the car.7:36 p.m. Oct. 30 - Three girls, whom police did not identify, were cited for retail theft after allegedly taking undisclosed merchandise at the JC Penney store, Clearview Mall in Center Township.7:10 p.m. Friday - Cars driven by Suzanne Dietrich, 53, of Butler and Connie Ice, 47, of West Sunbury collided on Route 8 at the Clearview Mall in Center Township.
1:50 a.m. Saturday - Benjamin Vogan, 24, of Freeport was arrested for driving under the influence on River Road in Parks Township, Armstrong County. Carie Ann Yonts, 21, no address given, a passenger in Vogan's car, was arrested for possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
9 p.m. Saturday - A car driven by Deborah Gray, no age given, of Pittsburgh struck a deer at Route 208 and Woodside Drive in Pine Township, Mercer County.3:50 a.m. Saturday - Rikki Lee Concannon, 22, of Pittsburgh was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence after her car struck a mailbox and rolled over several times along Route 528 in Liberty Township, Mercer County.Concannon was flown by medical helicopter with undisclosed injuries to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.
